Chocolate Sheet Cake
Ingredients:
- Cake
- 1 Stick of Oleo
- ½ Cup of Crisco Shortening
- 3 Tablespoons of Cocoa
- 2 Cups of Flour
- 2 Cups of Sugar
- 1 Cup of Water
- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
- 3 Eggs
- 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
- ½ Cup of Buttermilk
- 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
- ½ Teaspoon of Salt
- Frosting
- 1 Stick of Oleo
- 3 Tablespoons of Cocoa
- 1 Cup of Confectioners’s Sugar
- 6 Tablespoons of Milk
- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
Chocolate Cake
- Bring to a boil in a sauce pan:
- 1 stick of oleo
- ½ c. Crisco shortening
- 1 c. water
- 3 T. cocoa
- Pour above over following and mix:
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- ½ t. salt
- Add 1 t. vanilla
- Mix together then add to above:
- 3 beaten eggs
- 1 t. soda
- ½ c. buttermilk
Pour in 9 x 13” pan. Bake @ 350°.
Chocolate Frosting
- Melt together:
- 1 stick oleo
- 3 T. cocoa
- Pour over:
- 1 # confectioners’ sugar
- 6 T. milk
- 1 t. vanilla
- Beat together and spread over cooled cake.
